    Early-Stage Advisory

    We advise clients on a number of issues ranging from fund structuring, origination, business models, investment strategy , market intelligence, due diligence, and other areas of client interest.

    Research

    We work together with funds, global & local investors, bi-laterials, multi-laterals, and global foundations, among other clients to deliver bespoke 'on-the-ground' research and market intelligence for informed investment decisions and solutions.

    Project Design & Mngmt

    At Side B, we have the capacity to initiate operations on any particular investment or project. With a team of local and international hires, we are able to drive value translating concepts to reality.

  • What is Early-Stage?

    In the context of a firm, in our view, an early-stage firm is defined by the corporate life cycle, not by the traditional themes of (a) time in the market, (b) revenue, or (c) staff size. What this means is that we may have a high performing, high revenue, mass employment, 10-year-old firm which does not have a product market fit and yet may not be a
    ‘mature’ firm and therefore be classified as a startup. Think Twitter.

    Specific early-stage traits include: (i) ongoing brand development, (ii) scaling market reach, (iii) striving for operational breakeven, (iv) refining product-market fit, and (v) testing and validating business models.

    Unlike mature firms, early-stage companies, lack established market share, operational stability, and structured processes, making them dynamic but risk-prone entities in the business (corporate) lifecycle.
